    The Role

    As an Interior Design Architectural Staff member, you will be responsible for coordinating a team effort on projects ranging from residential estates to a wide variety of civic and commercial buildings, including churches, mixed-use buildings, hospitality, and institutional projects. This role involves coordination and selection of interior finishes, fixtures and materials that complement architectural projects and the required sampling to finalize these selections. This role will also be involved in the development and completion of finish selection schedules and specifications in support of each project. Individuals in this position will work on multiple projects simultaneously, so the ability to meet deadlines, stay organized, and multi-task is important. This individual must become familiar with vendors/suppliers and be able to specify furniture, and artwork for various market sectors. At time, this role may also include acting as architectural liaison with outside design consultants.

    • Assist in all project phases, including construction document development, while resolving technical and design challenges with creative and functional solutions.
    • Develop and present design concepts to project teams, utilizing AutoCAD to produce detailed furniture and lighting plans that optimize space efficiency and enhance functionality.
    • Source unique fixtures, fittings, and furniture selections, ensuring hard surface materials complement architectural elements while coordinating samples, quotes, and logistics for custom orders.
    • Manage project documentation and communication, providing updates and ensuring alignment among internal teams, consultants, and clients
    • Collaborate with clients, architectural teams, project managers, consultants and builders to provide construction administration support, ensuring adherence to design intent, schedules, and budgets.
    • Build and maintain key supplier relationships to streamline procurement processes and support innovative design solutions.
    • Mentor junior staff in developing design strategies and maintaining efficient project management systems.

    Qualifications

    • Interior Design background with 3-5 years proven work experience
    • Passion for resourcing new materials and sources
    • Ability to execute custom design- i.e. lighting, millwork, etc.
    • Ability to meet with Architects, Clients, Consultants, Contractors, and Developers
    • Ability to visit job sites
    • Ability to effectively meet deadlines
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
    • Creative talent, imagination, and eye for design
    • Research and follow industry changes, evolutions, and best practices
    • Knowledge of furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E), architectural / interior finishes, lighting, signage, art, and color schemes to carryout design intent
    • Experience in sampling and resourcing material
    • Experience preparing and managing schedules
    • Knowledge of historical design and current design resources, construction methodology, materials application, and manufacturer/supplier appropriateness
    • Proficiency in the following software is preferred: AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-Up,
    • Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point), and Bluebeam
    • Communication and presentation skills, Drawing skills a plus
    • Problem-solving skills
